I think of the actions of painting and drawing as an extension of touch, the hand. Whatever the medium—pen, thread, paint or glitter—my work manifests as the haptic gestures made and recorded on, in, or through surfaces. I draw inspiration from the histories and structures of textiles, geography, biology, and architecture. Invisible patterns—topography, weather patterns, bodily systems, astrological charts— often inform my work.
My most recent body of work builds on the glitter paintings that I began several years ago. However, the new pieces appear more viscous and corporeal.
